From one businessperson to another, it is time we all stood up and took an active part in all our community's youth. We need to be proactive in assuring young people that there really are people "out there" who genuinely care about their future. We may never meet them or know them personally, but we can help influence their current needs as well as giving them something to anchor their hopes and dreams on. The Cy-Falls Athletic Booster Club (CFABC) is trying to provide at least 10 scholarships to deserving young men and women that would not otherwise have this opportunity. Many of our youth will never receive any scholarships or financial assistance not for any lack of trying or heart. They give all they've got purely for love of the sport. They shouldn't be ignored or left out.
Cy-Falls is making a major effort to eliminate the need for kids to have to sell anything or to try to raise funds themselves. Also, as we are all aware, the State is having financial cutbacks in every area. More and more schools have to go to the "pay to play" concept all over this state and country. We are determined to prove that when communities come together to support these programs, we can continue to provide venues for our kids to help make them better students and citizens. Sports should be available to all and not just those fortunate to be able to afford to participate. There are 17 sports with 57 teams supported at Cy-Falls currently.
