Turner shines, Cy Falls dominates Cy-Fair

Cypress Falls running back Shane Turner had four Division I offers entering Thursday night's nationally-televised game against Cy-Fair at The Berry Center.

After rushing for 195 yards and four touchdowns in addition to a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, Turner's phone may be ringing non-stop from here on.

Turner upstaged Cy-Fair running back Sam McGuffie, a Michigan commitment, by running for touchdowns from 3, 35 and 69 yards and taking the second-half kickoff goal-line to goal-line.

"I hope I have some more offers. I hope all the colleges were watching this game," said Turner, who has been offered by Arizona, Fresno State, New Mexico State and Utah. "Everybody knows who Sam McGuffie is. Now I hope they know who I am. I try to make my mark."

Turner finished with well more than 300 all-purpose yards and has 1,037 rushing yards this season.

'The Missile' is unbelievable," Cy Falls (5-2 overall, 3-1 District 17-5A) coach David Raffield said. "It is amazing to me that every school in the country does not want a kid like that. I imagine those phones will be ringing off the hook after that. I'll tell you what, I'd love watching him for another four years somewhere."

The two teams combined for 792 yards of offense, with Cy Falls outgaining Cy-Fair 413-379. Golden Eagles quarterback Kolby Gray was 13-of-19 passing for 222 yards and an interception, throwing touchdowns of 10, 4 and 34 yards to Blake Shaw.
